An Ocean in my Ear

Cloud Nine

You want me to see

the clean stone

and the hay that’s rolled

into long swiss rolls on the wolds –

you want me to see

autumn light leaves

before the clocks turn back

and the sun dials out –

you want me to see –

you never have time

and I

must cash in the memory

for words.

There are two editions, one hardback signed by Michael Henry and the cover designer, Nigel Moores.

REVIEWS

“Michael Henry is an original, a Martian avant la lettre.” Peter Forbes

“These are intelligent poems whose strengths are their liveliness and the relish for language which they obviously convey.” Lawrence Sail

Michael Henry is someone who has an ear for clipped diction and an ear for short poems with short titles. A capacity for detail, imagist-like visuals, unassuming wordplay – these are the hallmarks of his work…at times Henry sends up coloured flares that light up the whole coastline.’John Lees
